Lisbon-based producer Zacarocha returns with new 4-track release ‘Psaltry Clouds EP’

While the global pandemic insists on dragging on and people are forced to keep looking inward for ways to deal with the profound changes in our daily lives, producers like Lisbon-based Zacarocha took this time to turn isolation into inspiration, even as society gradually opens up and we get to explore the outside world a bit more.

After releasing a series of EPs and singles produced during this period, Zacarocha now returns with ‘Psaltry Clouds EP’, a four-track release composed during Lisbon’s first and second lockdowns, where relentless breakbeats, abrasive rave synths and thick bass lines provide a futuristic sonic framework for the artist to explore intimate themes like self-discovery, sexual connection and finding safe spaces.

‘Psaltry Clouds EP’ is released on July 1st on Lost Thumb Records, the label founded by Zacarocha himself, on a super limited and exclusive four unit pressing. Portuguese illustrator Cristina Viana designed a unique sleeve for each of the four copies, which reveal a larger illustration when put together, reminiscent of a puzzle, or an acid tab that gets divided into quarters to be shared by a group of friends. ‘Psaltry Clouds EP’ will be available exclusively on Lost Thumb’s Bandcamp page in vinyl and digital, being release on all digital platforms later in the year.
